Olmsted County ADC Overview

The Olmsted County Adult Detention Center overview describes the ADC as a direct-supervision county jail operated by the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office. Olmsted County ADC Capacity

Olmsted County reports a 202-bed rated capacity for the Adult Detention Center. The sheriff's 2025 annual report, tabulated in January 2026, reported an average daily population of 122.98 for 2025. That annual average is below rated bed capacity, but capacity alone does not describe every jail condition. Research notes from the county and state inspection context point to practical limits such as court-holding and laundry space, so the safer reading is that the ADC had room against its rated bed count while still managing daily operational constraints.

Population figures are annual or daily snapshots. The county roster is updated daily and should not be treated as the same thing as an annual average or an official court record.

Olmsted County ADC Inmate Lookup

The correct lookup source for this jail is the ADC In Custody List. It is free and does not require a login. The list covers people currently held at the ADC, including pretrial detainees, sentenced local detainees, work-release or minimum-security detainees, and people held on other-agency or federal holds when the ADC is housing them. It is updated daily, so a very recent arrest or release may not appear exactly when a family member expects it.

2. Check the update timestamp before relying on the result for travel, bail, or court timing.
3. Search by first name, last name, or the first letter of the last name.
4. Review the photo, booking date, incarceration reason, detainee description, charges, and charge levels.

The roster is strongest for current jail custody. For sentenced prison custody, use the Minnesota Department of Corrections public locator. Olmsted County ADC Contact

The ADC direct line is the practical fallback when the roster is stale, a release may have happened after the daily update, or a caller needs current instructions for bail, visitation, mail, or public access. The sheriff's office also publishes division phone numbers, but custody confirmation starts with the Adult Detention Center line.

Business-hours bail is handled by Court Administration at the Government Center, not by guessing from a roster entry. After-hours bail uses the ADC circle-drive door and lobby phone. Bond and release status can change because of warrants, probation holds, court orders, or another agency's detainer.

Olmsted County ADC Visitation

Olmsted County uses video visitation for social visits. The county visitation page says visits must be scheduled through ICSolutions at least 24 hours ahead. All social video visits may be monitored and recorded. For on-site visits, visitors report to the Work Release Facility at 140 4th Street SE with a valid picture ID and confirmation code, and the county tells them to arrive at least 10 minutes early.

The ICSolutions visitor page listed the video windows and noted a $3.00 off-site visit cost during research, but vendor pricing should be verified before money is added.

Olmsted County ADC Mail and Money

Personal jail mail is digitally delivered. The county's contact-someone-in-jail page gives the mailing address as Olmsted County Jail, inmate name and inmate number, P.O. Box 16120, Jonesboro, AR 72401. Allowed mail includes handwritten pen or pencil letters, typed letters, and appropriate photos. The county prohibits packages, books, magazines, blank paper, stamps, checks, gang or obscene material, stickers, odors, and fluids.

Detainees cannot receive direct calls. Calls out use ICSolutions prepaid service, and family or friends can call 888-506-8407 for phone-account help. Messages and photos can be sent through JailATM after setup and contact verification, with JailATM help listed as 870-627-5476. Funds are deposited through Inmate Canteen online or kiosks at the WRF and ADC.

The county funds page says deposits may be used for video time, phone-call time, paper, stamps, envelopes, and vending food. The county will not discuss account status with family or friends.

Olmsted County ADC Booking

Booking at the ADC is the local intake point after an arrest by the sheriff's office, Rochester Police, or another agency that uses the county jail. The public roster shows the parts of intake that are released online: a photo date, booking date, incarceration reason, detainee description, charges, and charge levels. It does not show bond amount, housing unit, court date, date of birth, address, or arresting agency in the captured roster text.

Pre-trial

The person is held while the criminal case is still pending.

Detainer or hold

Another agency or court order may keep the person in custody even if local bail changes.

Writ

A court order that requires a person to be held or produced for court.

Sentenced

The person is serving a court-imposed term, either locally or before transfer.

Olmsted County ADC Programs

The ADC has educational, recreational, and religious programming. County materials state that community volunteers provide education, counseling, library, and religious services. Rochester Public Schools provides Adult Basic Education and GED teachers. Foodservice, vending, detainee phones, and health care are contracted services, and a mental-health team works with detainees who present mental illness or emotional distress.

The ADC and WRF also operate under a PREA zero-tolerance policy for sexual abuse and sexual harassment.
